RIGA'S LEGENDARY HOTEL "METROPOLE" REOPENS ITS DOORS TO GUESTS
The "Metropole" carries with honor the title of the city's oldest hotel and the first business-class hotel, and has been a destination for many notable visitors to Riga since 1871. It is located in the heart of the city, at Aspazijas Boulevard 36/38, at the beginning of the Old Town, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
"We are proud to reopen the doors of the 'Metropole' hotel to visitors after several years of hiatus. This ancient gem not only has a great location but also boasts a legendary story of experience. We are committed to providing each guest with an excellent hospitality experience, combining the historical charm of the hotel with modern amenities and services. We eagerly await each guest at the 'Metropole' hotel to share a unique and unforgettable adventure," emphasizes Alisa Junga, the director of the 'Metropole' hotel.
Today, the hotel's new concept, focused on art and history, will allow not only foreign guests but also local residents to enjoy the ancient atmosphere of the building and explore the works and exhibitions of talented artists.
The 150-year-long story of the legendary 'Metropole' is visible in every carefully preserved detail of its exterior and interior, worked on by the best European designers. The accommodation options include rooms from various classes, featuring thematic details typical of the 'Legend' collection, as well as new elegantly classic rooms from the 'Modern' collection with a contemporary touch. The hotel's premises will feature museum exhibits and contemporary works by Latvian artists. The hotel also offers meeting rooms for business gatherings and conferences.
On the hotel's ground floor, there is the popular "De Commerce Gastro Pub 1871," which is a favorite spot for many Riga residents and guests of the city. The pub serves international cuisine for breakfast, while in the evenings, it invites guests to enjoy selected drinks and snacks in a serene and sophisticated atmosphere right in the heart of Riga.
"Taking into account the increase in the number of foreign tourists in Riga, this year we plan to achieve the results of 2019 when the hotel hosted an average of 3,200 guests per month. At the same time, we will continue to actively work on attracting individual travelers, business clients, and tourist groups," continues A. Junga, noting that the reopening of the 'Metropole' hotel has also created 28 new job opportunities for local residents.
Currently, the Latvian hotel chain "Semarah Hotels" can be proud of the resort hotel "Lielupe" in Jurmala and two hotels in Riga - the elegant five-star design hotel "Grand Poet Hotel" on Raiņa Boulevard and the four-star historic hotel "Metropole" on Aspazijas Boulevard.
